Application/Acceptance Fees & Deposits

- Ohio State Optometry supplemental application fee: $60 domestic; $70 international
- Acceptance fee*: $25
- Tuition deposit*: $725
* If admitted before December 1, the deposit is due within one month of being admitted. If admitted December 1 – January 31, the deposit is due within three weeks of admission. If admitted anytime on or after February 1, the deposit is due within two weeks of admission. Neither the application fee nor the acceptance fee is refundable. Your tuition deposit will be credited towards tuition for the first semester.
Cost and Financial Aid
The amounts below are based on the estimated cost of attendance for an average Optometry student at The Ohio State University for the current year. All domestic students are eligible to apply for Federal Student loans to help cover these costs by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) found at studentaid.gov. All applicants, both domestic and international, will also be considered for admissions scholarships based on their application and interview.

Out-of-State and International Student Fees
The non-resident fee for first-year students is $10,528 per semester. The non-resident fee for second - fourth-year students is $5 per semester. Students may review the Ohio State Residency guidelines to determine if they may be eligible for in-state residency during their first year.
Parking
A parking permit is required of any student wishing to park a car on Ohio State Columbus grounds. For 2025 - 2026 the cost is $1,047 ($87.25 per month) for central campus surface lots. Options are also available for off-site parking with campus bus service (reduced cost) and garage access (increased cost).
Room and board
The majority of Optometry students take advantage of the many off-campus housing options near campus. On-campus housing is also conveniently located just across the street from our facilities.
